“Ardito” wheat

Stone Milled Wheat Flour

We grow our organic “Ardito” wheat on the farm and take it in small batches to a local mill to be ground into whole wheat (Tipo 2) and semi-whole wheat (Tipo1) flour. Ardito wheat was born in 1920, a new breed created by Nazareno Strampelli. First he bred Rieti and Whilhelmina and when he found the crossbreed he was looking for he bred it with the Japanese semidwarf variety Akakomugi; thus creating Ardito, a wheat variety perfect suited to our climate.
